The Greataxeby
A downloadable game
You receive a party invitation from the owner of the lavish lakeside mansion next to the guesthouse where you've been staying. You've heard that he's a merchant wealthy enough to act as though he's a noble, and he goes to great lengths to throw enormous celebrations to show off his riches. But is that his true motivation, or does he have a more occult motive?
The Greataxeby is an OSR adventure written for the MÖRK BORG ruleset by Ockult Örtmästare Games & Stockholm Kartell. Explore Jay Gatsby's Gothic mansion and meet a cast of bizarre characters that have fallen into the charismatic host's orbit.
Featuring:
- An 18 room, two storey mansion/dungeon
- Burglars, lawn gnoams, and neglected pet tigers
- A guy named "Rot-Gut" Ferret (actually a name from the novel)
- People's unfinished meals you can pick through
- A boss fight with one of literature's most famous axe-wielding (?) characters
The Greataxeby is an independent production by Nick Duff and is not affiliated with Ockult Örtmästare Games or Stockholm Kartell. It is published under the MÖRK BORG Third Party License.

Ran this as a one shot at my table and it was great! I set it on a hill overlooking Lake Onda, with Gatsby as a former Schleswig noble, and 'Daisy' as a vague eldritch being. Our Wretched Royal rode their horse through the whole house, it was all super provocative and the final battle was epically bloody!
My only critique is that a couple of the rooms (like the Guest Bedroom and both bathrooms) were a bit boring as-is. I added a torn up corpse of a priest of the basilisks in the GB where the players found a little lore hinting at 'Daisy' and the occult nature of the party. I put a random encounter in the small bathroom (it was the drug dealer, on the toilet).
I also hid a sneaky Blood Drenched Skeleton in the spa bathroom, in the tub which was full of blood instead of towels, so it jumped out at the players and attacked with a spiky loofah.
Everything else was true to your module and we loved it!
Thanks for your feedback! Taking your horse into Gatsby's mansion is very funny to me
